The Automation Revelation (21:39 minutes)
UK managed service provider InTechnology says it's reaped tremendous
benefits from an automated lifecycle approach. "When you've got like 80
percent of all incidents raised automatically, it takes a massive burden
off the 24/7 teams and the customer support guys, who are not spending
the majority of their time creating incidents but actually working to
resolve them," said InTechnology's Ed Jackson.

Today's Story Highlights
Yahoo Rumblings Pick Up
The chatter around a Yahoo deal increased on Tuesday and Wednesday as
potential buyers and investors starting lining up. It appears Yahoo will
be considering a deal to acquire a minority stake in the company by
year's end. Offers for roughly 20 percent of the company reportedly came
in this week from a number of interested parties.

Vast Scope of Chanel Counterfeit Ruling May Render It Useless
A Nevada judge has ordered that 228 online domains belonging to outfits
that sell counterfeit Chanel items be seized, shuttered and removed from
social networks and search engines. The case has raised questions
regarding the control of Internet fraud in a widespread global
marketplace.

Samsung Catches a Break in Australia Patent Tiff
Samsung has scored a victory against Apple in a legal skirmish in
Australia that is part of a larger, global battle between the two over
their respective patent rights. An Australian appeals court overturned a
preliminary injunction that barred Samsung from selling its Galaxy Tab
10.1 tablet in the country.

Solving the Wireless Signal Strength Problem
Did you ever wonder how wireless networks keep the best signal strength
between their cell towers, and how they prepare for new towers and
network expansion? It's an ongoing process. Cell towers are scattered
around every city. Wireless carriers spend a fortune and lots of time
sending people up to the top of every tower just to visually see the
connecting towers. The reason they do this is to improve connections.

Why Publishers Are Afraid of Amazon
My previous experience with book publishers was over 10 years ago when I
wrote a book about buying a business. It wasn't a great experience
because first I had to find an agent -- not an easy task. The agent then
had to go through the long and arduous task of finding a publisher. The
process took a great deal of time and energy.

Stick-to-itiveness: 3 Steps to Continually Refine Your CRM
Each dollar spent on CRM yields $5.60 in benefits, according to a recent
report. Though the findings are interesting, the methodology is
questionable. The 70 participating companies were customers of a firm
that had been profiled in case studies -- they were not necessarily
typical CRM users. Still, it's worth noting that the companies were
embodying a trait of successful CRM users: "stick-to-itiveness."
