Today's Story Highlights

Google Joins Coupon Clamor With Single-City Offers Kickoff
Google Chairman Eric Schmidt and VP of commerce Stephanie Tilenius have
announced the launch of Google Offers' beta program, which will kick off
in Portland, Ore., starting on Wednesday. The very first Google Offer
will be for a Portland local favorite, Floyd's Coffee. Those with
coupons will pay $3 for $10 worth of drinks.
http://www.ecommercetimes.com/story/72565.html

The Tremendous Transformative Powers of B2B E-Commerce
The development and adoption of e-commerce strategies for established
businesses has become a given over the past few years. It seems
appropriate to say that we have crossed a line where the question of,
"Should a business have an e-commerce strategy?" has been replaced with,
"When will a business have an e-commerce strategy?" or even with, "How
many e-commerce sites can be leveraged as a part of the overall
strategy?"
http://www.ecommercetimes.com/story/72561.html

Can iCloud Make It Rain for Cupertino?
Apple has announced that Steve Jobs will keynote its WWDC, to be held in
San Francisco June 6 through 10, and has disclosed that iCloud, iOS 5
and Mac OS X Lion will be demoed at the event. Apple, whose attitude to
disclosure makes the Sphinx seem like a blabbermouth, seldom discusses
upcoming events or announces a new product before a company executive
gets the chance to personally introduce it onstage.
http://www.ecommercetimes.com/story/72558.html

Modeling in 4 Dimensions
Modeling is a big idea and one that I started noodling on many years
ago. In the last couple of weeks, I've looked at the cloud computing
model, or what it ought to be. Today I am looking at a broader paradigm.
One of the great things about new paradigms is that there is no model
per se. In a way, a new paradigm is an opportunity to create the model;
it's an incipient model, perhaps.

PlayStation Store to Limp Out of the Hospital This Week
An end to Sony's PlayStation woes is presumably in sight: The company
has announced it will restore full functionality to the PlayStation
Store by the end of this week. That includes in-game commerce, the
ability for players to redeem vouchers and codes, and full functionality
of Music Unlimited as well as Media Go.

Today's Story Highlights

WHO Connects Cellphones With Cancer Risk
After reviewing data from previous studies, the International Agency for
Research on Cancer released a statement Tuesday asserting cellphones are
possibly carcinogenic toward humans. The report was put together in
Lyon, France, after a week-long conference with international experts
for the IARC, which is the cancer arm of the World Health Organization.

New Malware Variant Jukes Apple's Bug Fix
As promised, Apple on Tuesday released a security update to combat
MacDefender, a type of fake antivirus malware that had targeted the Mac
OS X platform over the last few weeks. On Wednesday, however, hackers
apparently managed to figure out an end-run around its solution. Apple's
fix updates its malware definition list daily, and it searches for and
removes known variants of the MacDefender malware.

VirtualBox 4 Builds a Clean Sandbox Inside Your Linux Desktop
Constantly testing software and tinkering with a variety of Linux
operating systems puts my multiple test-bench computers to constant use.
Granted, Linux comes with a lot fewer security risks. But dealing with
unknown factors and beta glitches can be time consuming to correct when
they take down an entire box.
http://www.technewsworld.com/story/72553.html

Who Watches the Watchmen, Part 1: A World Gone Mad
When the very companies that provide us security technology are
themselves either getting hacked or hamstrung with security flaws, how
can we be sure that our computers have any protection at all?Within the
space of just over a month, security issues hit three major players in
the security field -- RSA, McAfee and LastPass.

Dell's XPS 15z: Making a Case to a Prosumer Market
As mobile computing has evolved from the exception to the norm, many
vendors have attempted to imbue their products with a certain high-end
cachet. Some succeeded beyond measure and expectation, even with devices
that were initially technologically flawed. Others have developed
products which initially seemed destined for commercial success but were
abandoned in a matter of weeks.

Why Windows Phone 7 "Mango" is bango
Microsoft's Mango release of Windows Phone 7 qualifies as a Big Deal.
